Wireless Driveway Security Alarm
Wireless driveway security alarms provide a additional layer of protection around
your property to give you an early warning of an intrusion and someone trying to
enter your property. Of course they are useful to simply alert you an expected visit
by a friend or neighbour or even a home delivery.
Wireless driveway alarms usually consist of two components. These are the transmitter
and receiver. The transmitter end senses detects the presence of someone entering
your property usually through infra-red technology and sends the information to
the receiver, which in turn will notify you, the homeowner. Some systems allow you
to communicate with the visitor.
When you plan for your wireless driveway alarm, you need to be aware of the distance
between the transmitter and receiver so that you purchase a system with the suitable
range. If you are not sure exactly where you will position the transmitter then
purchase a system with a much longer range. This will allow for future relocation
of the unit, if required. If you want to cover more of your property you may want
to purchase additional transmitters. Again, buy a suitable system that allows for
expansion for your requirements.
Some driveway security alarms use motion sensors set at a certain height as to prevent
small animals triggering the alarm. However, motion detectors cannot always filter
out trees blowing in the wind or a passing vehicle.
There are other types of driveway alarm that don’t use motion sensors but instead
detect if a vehicle is on your driveway. This system is activated when metal is
detected so this type of driveway alarm requires a probe with a cable to be inserted
in your yards near your driveway or into the driveway itself.
Wireless driveway alarms can be installed on warehouse rollup doors, inside display
cabinets, restricted area, passage, and bedroom as window alerting devices in an
easy manner. Walls and trees will be the limiting factors in wireless sensors.
