a sound detector is the glass break detector.
The glass break detector can use two different types of technology to monitor and
detect breaking glass. Both sound analysis and air pressure can be used to determine
if a window is being broken.
Glass break detectors are ideal for protecting areas in your home with many windows,
even if the doors and windows are protected by magnetic contact sensors. Basically,
if a burglar attempted to throw something through you window or tries to smash a
hole through it, the glass break to detect this and go into an alarm condition.
Be sure to mount the glass break detector where it is free from interference from
appliances such as air conditioning or heating systems etc… When entering a property,
the air pressure could trigger the device so it would be wise to connect the glass
break sensor to a delay zone of your alarm control panel.
