Nanny Cams
A nanny cam is simply a
hidden camera which is often situated in devices such as
clocks, hi-fi systems or toys. It is used for watching over your nanny and your
children while you are out of your house.
Some nanny cams are battery powered so can be placed anywhere and will therefore
not show any tell tale signs of suspicious cables. These devices are generally wireless
in operation so that the camera signal is transmitted to a receiver unit for recording
and playback. Usually, the recording device these days is a digital video recorder
(DVR) so that the images can be saved to a hard disk. This has the benefit of not
needing storage for tapes together with better non-deteriorating digital quality.
Bear in mind that if you are using a camera in your house for the purpose of monitoring
your nanny, be aware of the legalities when recording someone without their consent.
It is illegal in some states in the US to record someone without their knowledge
so check with a law professional for your state before you go ahead installing a
nanny cam else you could be breaking the law. Your local retailer may also be able
to help on the legalities of the use of nanny cams.
In the unfortunate circumstance where a child is mistreated, the nanny cam will
provide the necessary evidence to bring the person to justice. But not only are
your nanny and children being watched but so are your valuables. When items or money
go missing the tape can be reviewed if you are at all suspicious.
