Exterior Security Lighting
Exterior security lighting is often used in conjunction with a PIR motion detector to illuminate dark areas of the exterior of your property. The motion detector will be triggered when a burglar comes in range thus deterring them from breaking into your property. Pay attention to dark areas where there are trees or shrubs and illimate these where possible. Usually a floodlight with built in PIR motion detector is a popular choice for exterior security lighting.
As well as deterring security problems, a PIR activated exterior security light also offers a welcome light when returning home at night by lighting key entrances to your home.
The lights include a dusk setting to prevent the security lights switching on in the day.
The sensitivity of the PIR sensor and the amount of time the light stays on is adjustable. On some lighting you can also adjust the dusk setting to determine exactly how dark the garden is before the light is activated.
